Finals and all that crap

August 28, 2008. Filed under: A Day in the Life, Events, School

Kill me for not updating this blog. I’ve been busy lately, with all the projects and school-related stuff. It’s just… too many. :|

Anyway, finals are almost over for me. One more exam, and I’m done! Well, *brags* I’m, erm, our class is exempted in CATHWOR, but we have to attend for, well, attendance. :D

Finals:

ORALCOM (Oral Communication) — Debate. Our proposition: Be it resolved that medical cannabis (or marijuana) be legalized. It went out good, we have to do our debate Thursday last week at 9pm! CHECK.
BASICOM (Basics of Computer) — Compilation of our works. E-journals, seatworks, quizzes, etc. CHECK.
JOSERIZ (Jose Rizal) — Written. CHECK.
PHILIEN (Philippine Literature in English) — Written. CHECK.
HARTDS1 (History of Art and Design 1) — PowerPoint Presentations of Japan and France. CHECK.
CATHWOR (Catholicism in the Modern World) — Written, however EXEMPTED. CHECK.

So yeah. Those were the things that were keeping me preoccupied these days. However, I’m active in Plurk, but my karma’s going down. :( Might as well have the phPlurk thing working. Well, I did. That was so spaced out.

Let’s talk about what I did today, like how a blog post usually goes.

I wore my skinny jeans today, which I bought from F&H at 1,199 PhP (I bought it, with financial assistance, because I have wear it on my friend’s debut on Saturday). So anyway, today was course card distribution for BASICOM, finals submission for HARTDS1 and written exam for PHILIEN. Of course, I’m one of those who are dreaming of having a 4.0 grade. Since 1st term, I never experienced having a 4.0 as a final grade, only for the midterms. :( When I entered 1002, I saw Ms. So (our professor in BASICOM), and she gave me my compilation right away. However, my compilation was incomplete. (There was no marketing kit). Since that’s incomplete, I thought that I’m gonna have a 50 grade (that was based on our agreement on our make-up class). BUT… I got a grade of… *drum roll please*3.5! At first, I was discontented but the “dis” was omitted. :) Weee… A good start for Thursday.

After that, Jeo, Trish, Dims, Paul and I went to the cafeteria to eat. Then we submitted our PowerPoint presentations at Mrs. Gomez (our professor in HARTDS1). After I submitted mine, I felt nervous because of my grade in her subject. Her basis of our grades are: attendance, midterm and finals. Anyway, I went to our assigned room for PHILIEN. I got my magazine and other paper work, but didn’t study. Bad kid! So yeah, the test was… hmm… so-so. However, answers were scattered after the proctor left. Sino ung author ng ‘The Small Key”? Paz Marquez Benitez.

I came with Joanna and her friends Angel, Justine and Tina to Harbour Square to eat. While we were eating, we were talking about pop culture, especially those of GMA and ABS. And of course, we will never forget Marian Rivera’s Nesvita commercial. Say it with me, Marian style: BEAUTIFUL.

I commuted going home by means of riding an FX with Tina. It was my first time commuting from Manila (well, aside from riding a bus). I had a quick stopover to 7-Eleven before going home.

So that was, like, my day, right? Hahahaha.

I just hope, take note, HOPE… that I may be a Dean’s Lister this term… and continue being one. :)

THINGS TO DO ON TERM BREAK:

  1. Enroll in a driving school. (preferably A1.)
  2. Print WordCamp camper’s pass.
  3. Attend WordCamp.
  4. Recover my social life. (By going to malls, etc.)
  5. REST.

THANK YOU:

One hard subject and an iPod

EDIT: Update on my post about WordCamp Philippines - I have updated the list of sponsors. Please click here.

ORALCOM. Oral Communication. For me, this subject has been going through my nerves. Everytime I attend this subject, I have this nervous feeling because either there’s something that I missed or the professor herself.

Yeah, this is the only subject I’ve experienced with the laboratory having make-up classes. EVER. And the professors? One perfectionist female with manly features for the lecture and a flamboyant man with a lot of gossip for the laboratory. Grabe. I just can’t stand them. However, I find the laboratory fun. (Well, every meeting some stories are told and we seldom do activities) Lecture has the word “PAIN” tattooed on it. Her expectations on us are so HIGH, to the point that if we don’t reach it, we break down. If she doesn’t like your work, expect her to say this, “You’re gonna get an R.” Plus, she threats us a lot, no wonder she got strong, manly features. Fine, I’m getting a little angry here. Slow down, slow down.

Wala lang, it’s kinda pressuring on my part. I’m doing the best that I can do. I’m trying to exert my effort. It’s very very hard to please her. She can’t be pleased like *snaps fingers* that. Oh well, only God knows when she’ll change her attitude.

On the bright side, I have officially stopped saving money! I have reached 6,500 pesos for an iPod nano! Once I get my hands on to that thing, I will call it, “Peanut.” Why Peanut? Because it is small, and it sounds cute. I will buy the iPod from my friend, who is currently selling gadgets (cellular phones, music players, laptops, etc.)

I shall make a blog post about it.
