I’m joining WordCamp Philippines!

WordCamp PhilippinesWhile I was Plurk-ing, my friend posted an update about the upcoming WordCamp Philippines organized by Mindanao Bloggers on September 6, 2008. The best part is the fact that it will be held at my school, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, specifically in the Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater. And some of my classmates and friends are going to this event!

My intent is that, first and foremost, to learn more about WordPress. I got hosted 3 times already, and I have used WordPress as my blogging system. Unfortunately, I’ve lost my spark in my WordPress skills so I asked my host to change from WordPress to Blogger. But I’ve been thinking lately that I wanted to use WordPress again, because its features are by far superior than Blogger (No offense). And now, I’m back to WordPress! Second, I want to learn how to make a WordPress theme. I’ve made the graphics, but I don’t really know how to code using PHP. I’ve been an HTML guy since when I was a high school sophomore and, through WordCamp, I can know some PHP codes and apply it on my upcoming themes.

It’s also my first time to experience a blog gathering. I hope I can meet other WordPress (or other blogging system) bloggers aside from my friends, and Matt Mullenweg1!
